Welcome to Peter's Tai Chi

I made this website for two reasons.

Firstly, I wanted a place to publish my own Tai Chi related material - mostly writings and videos.

Secondly, I wanted to collect a curated corpus of Tai Chi related material. Today, there is a lot of Tai Chi material of varying quality scattered across the internet. This website gives me the opportunity to save interesting material, I may come across.  Including or linking to other people's stuff does not necessarily mean that I endorse it - just that I think it has a certain value.

The website is under construction, and hopefully it will continue to be so for years to come, as I add more content. There is a bit of stuff here already, so feel free to click around and see if you can find anything that might interest you.

This is a one-person project, and when it comes to webdesign, it is very much amateur hour. I chose to download a free css template and build the site myself. This means that I am not at the mercy of some cloud-based website-providing company. I hope it also reduces the number of cookies. But it also means that there are some design drawbacks - especially if you use a moblie device, and for that I wish to apologize

The legend of Zhang San Feng.

Zhang San Feng was a Taoist monk from the 14th century, who lived in the WuDang Mountains .

Legend has it, that one day he observed a bird attacking a snake. The snake did not flee, but stayed and dodged the attacks over and over, until it suddenly struck back and killed the bird.

The movements of the animals inspired Zhang San Feng to create the first Tai Chi set of movements.
